Design Process

1. INITIAL CHAT, MEASUREMENTS & IDEAS

We will meet at your home to discuss your ideas and the scope of the project. With your permission, we will take pictures and measurements and any other reference that we may need. Some of the most important points to consider on a kitchen remodeling or any other space are:

  • Are you changing floors.
  • Are you moving walls.
  • Are you changing appliances.
  • Do you need more space.
  • Can you use part of another space.
  • What is a must-have and what is nice-to-have.

2.  INITIAL CONCEPT & FEEDBACK

We will gather all the information from our meeting and we will start the design process. Once we have the initial concept we will prepare the drawings and renderings to give you an idea of your new space. We will also give you an estimate of the project.

We will work with you to tailor the space per your feedback and we will update the drawings until you are happy with the design.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DRAWINGS AND RENDERINGS HAVE NO CHARGE EVEN IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO PROCEED WITH THE PROJECT. IT WILL HAVE A CHARGE OF $300 IF YOU DECIDE TO GET A PRINTED OR DIGITAL COPY AND DECIDE NOT TO PROCEED WITH THE PROJECT. THIS WILL COVER OUR TIME AND EFFORT DESIGNING YOUR DREAM SPACE.

3. MATERIAL SELECTION & ESTIMATE

After you approve the design, we will work with you selecting all the materials (cabinets and Countertops), hardware (Pulls, Knobs, Organizers), and colors for your space. Based on the final design and selections we will provide an estimate of the full project for your approval.

After you approve the estimate, we can work on sorting out the logistics of the project, which includes your contract, deposit and permits.

4.  BUILDING PERMITS & MATERIAL ORDER

Once the contract is signed, we will start the application for building permits if necessary. Permits are often required for structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical alterations. This process can take weeks or months depending on the complexity of the project and the city. At the same time we order all materials and appliances that can also have long lead times.

If you are doing a kitchen remodeling, then this is a good time to start planning for a temporary kitchen. Move the fridge and microwave to a temporary location, use the laundry sink if you have, use the grill if you have.

5. CONSTRUCTION & PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION

Once permits are approved and ALL materials arrived, we can proceed with demolition, construction, and installation. It can take between 1-6 weeks depending on how much work is involved. Sometimes there are surprises hidden behind the walls that can delay a project so please be patient and be prepared for this.

6. WALK THROUGH

The final step on our process is making sure that everything works perfectly and as intended and the most important and final goal is that you are 100% satisfied with your new space.

We greatly appreciate the opportunity to make your dreams become a reality.
